Gimme20 Privacy Overview
Gimme20 is committed to protecting your privacy. As an online community, we make it easy to share information. We give you control of your information because we realize you may not want everyone to have the information you choose to share. Our privacy settings limit information displayed in your profile to your networks and other community limitations we tell you about.

You control your personal information. You choose what information to show on your personal profile, including personal information, contact, pictures, interests and groups. The privacy settings on your profile allow you to control with whom you share that information. We also want to help you have access to the information others want to share.

We have developed the Gimme20 Privacy Policy to be compliant with the TRUSTe Privacy Program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build users' trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices.

If you have questions or ideas concerning this policy, contact our privacy staff. Please see the “Contact Us” section.

Gimme20 Privacy Policy
The Gimme20 Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you decide to share when using Gimme20 (located at www.gimme20.com and its directly associated domains), how you can update your personal information, and how you can contact us with regards to your personal information.

Throughout the policy, we refer to information that can identify you as a specific individual, such as your name, phone number, email address, Social Security number or credit card number, as "personally identifiable information." Further, personally identifiable information includes any information involving your health or medical history.

By using or accessing Gimme20, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We have developed the Gimme20 Privacy Policy to be compliant with the TRUSTe Privacy Program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build users' trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices.

We abide by the EU Safe Harbor Privacy Framework as set forth by the United States Department of Commerce.

We comply with the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We recommend that minors between the ages of 13 to 18 receive their parent’s permission before sending personal information to anyone over the Internet. No one under the age of 13 may provide any personal information to Gimme20. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as soon as possible.

Improper collection or misuse of information provided on Gimme20 is a violation of the Gimme20 Terms of Use and should be reported to us. Please see the “Contact Us” section.

If you have questions or ideas concerning this policy, contact our privacy staff. Please see the “Contact Us” section.

Information Collection & Use
You provide us with two types of information when you visit Gimme20: personally identifiable information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us, and web site use information ("web profile") collected by us as you interact with our web site.

Registration
In order to use certain functionality of Gimme20, you must complete the registration form and create a user account and password. During registration, you are required to provide contact information such as your name, email address and address. We use this information to contact you about the services on our site in which you have expressed an interest. You have the option to provide demographic information (such as gender and education level), preference and interests to us; we encourage you to provide this information so we can provide you a more personalized experience on our site.

After registration, you will receive an email confirmation that will provide you with your username and password. This is a one-time login and you will be directed to change your password.

Gimme20 and WeKnowThe.com, a partner in Gimme20, are the sole owners of the information collected on www.Gimme20.com. Gimme20 collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our web site.

Orders
If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date).

We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

Surveys or Contests
We will provide you the opportunity to participate in contests and surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code).

We use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes, to monitor site traffic, and personalize the site. We may also post contest winners names on the site.

We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.

Tell-A-Friend
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Gimme20 stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.

Your friend may contact us to request that we remove this information from our database. Please see the “Contact Us” section.

Other Collection
Gimme20 may also collect information about you from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other users of the Gimme20 service through the operation of the service (e.g., photo tags) in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience.

By using Gimme20, you are consenting to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States and Canada.

Uses of Information
We may occasionally use your name, email address and/or IM address to send you notifications regarding services offered by Gimme20 that we think you may find valuable. Gimme20 may send service-related announcements from time to time, such as notification that a friend sent you a message. Generally, you may opt out of such emails from the profile page, though Gimme20 reserves the right to send you notices about your account even if you opt out of all voluntary email notifications.

Profile information is used by Gimme20 primarily to provide your profile to you and for edits, and to be presented to others permitted to view that information by your privacy settings. Other Gimme20 users may be able to supplement your profile in some cases where your privacy settings permit such.

Profile information you submit to Gimme20 will be available to users of Gimme20 who belong to at least one of the networks you allow to access the information through your privacy settings (e.g., buddies). Your name, network names, and profile picture thumbnail will be available in search results across the Gimme20 network and those limited pieces of information may be made available to third party search engines. This is primarily so your friends can find you and send a friend request. People who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your profile information unless they have a relationship to you (e.g., buddies, member of your networks, etc.) that allows such access based on your privacy settings.

Gimme20 may use information about you that we collect from other sources to supplement your profile. Where such information is used, we generally allow you to specify in your privacy settings that you do not want this to be done or to take other actions that limit the connection of this information to your profile (e.g., removing photo tag links).

Communications from the Site

Special Offers and Updates
We will occasionally send you information on products, services, special deals, and promotions. You can sign up for these emails from us on our registration page and in your profile. Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option not to receive these types of communications. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

Newsletters
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

Service-related Announcements
We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.

Notifications
If you wish to receive notifications, such as buddy requests and messages received, we will use your name and email address to send notifications to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

Customer Service
Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, in accordance with your wishes.

Web Profile
We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, [and/or third party sources] to create a “web profile” of your preferences. We may tie your personally identifiable information, and your purchasing history, to information in the web profile, in order to provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve the content of the site for you. We may share your web profile with other third parties, but we do not share your personally identifiable information.

Information Sharing and Disclosure
Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)
We share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and advertisers. This information does not identify individual users. We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information.

Personally identifiable information:
We may share Personally Identifiable Information with Third Parties, such as credit card processing companies, in order to facilitate services.

We use an outside shipping company to fulfill orders, and a credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.

We use other third parties to provide services on our site. When you sign up for these services, we will share information as necessary for the third party to provide that service. These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our web site

Choice/Opt-out
We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information. For example, if you purchase a product/service but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference on our order form.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication, by changing the options on your profile or by emailing us. Please see the “Contact Us” section.

You will be notified when your personal information is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider, so you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party.

Log Files
As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

IP addresses, browser type, ISP, operating system and date/time stamp are tied to personally identifiable information when you send an email to our support so that we may better assist you.

We use third-party tracking services that use cookies and log files to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate, such as visits and pages viewed, in order to improve our services for you and all visitors.

Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site. We may link the information we store in cookies to personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.

We use session ID cookies and persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close you browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file.

We set a persistent cookie to store your passwords, so you don’t have to enter it more than once. Persistent cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.

If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site, such as community and profiles, will be limited.

Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) use cookies on our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Gimme20 only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We, or our third party advertising partner, may employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We may tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

We may use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please see “Choice and Opt-out.”

Third Party Advertisers
The ads appearing on this web site are delivered to users by our advertising partners. We share web site usage information about users with reputable partners for the purpose of targeting our Internet banner advertisements on this site.

These advertising partners may use cookies and clear GIFs on this site, which allow them to recognize a user's cookie when a user visits this site. The information that they collect and share through this technology is not personally identifiable.

Links to Other Sites
This web site contains links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by Gimme20. Please be aware that we, Gimme20, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.

We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information.

This privacy statement applies only to information collected by this web site.

Blogs/Groups/Forums
If you use a blog, group or forum on this site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.

We reserve the right to terminate the accounts of visitors or members who use these services in a manner inconsistent with our Terms of Use.

Access to Personally Identifiable Information
Control over most personal information on Gimme20 is readily available through the profile editing tools. Gimme20 users may modify or delete any of their profile information at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated immediately. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to members of Gimme20. Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other individuals on Gimme20, however, (e.g., sending a personal message to another Gimme20 user) you generally cannot remove such communications.

Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information and no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that user content you post on the site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. You post user content on the site at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of user content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored your user content.

If you have any questions about security on our web site, you can email us. Please see the “Contact Us” section.

Business Transitions
In the event Gimme20 goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personally identifiable information will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via email or a prominent notice on our web site of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

Use, Notices and Changes in this Privacy Statement
Your use of Gimme20, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Use and all of its dispute resolution provisions including arbitration, limitation on damages and choice of law. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use at any time. Non-material changes and clarifications will take effect immediately, and material changes will take effect within 30 days of their posting on this site. If we make changes, we will post them and will indicate on this page the policy's new effective date. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or through notice on our home page. We encourage you to refer to this policy on an ongoing basis so that you understand our current privacy policy. Unless stated otherwise, our current privacy policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account.

Our current Statement was last updated November 4, 2008.
