Trans fat adds more pounds than other fat. EAT THAT KNOWLEDGE
Trans fat, which is used in many fried and processed foods, may contribute more to weight gain than other types of fat, suggests a new study presented here Saturday at the annual meeting of the Obesity Society, an organization of weight-loss professionals.

I don't know. To me it is no shock that the crap food served out by fast food restaurants is bad for you. I mean seriously: Are people just waking up to this fact?
I used to be a die hard fast food funky -- and consequently developed allot of stomach problems. I have avoided it like the plague since then.
Hopefully, research like this, and the progress that is being made to make Fast Food change their ways will result in a more energetic, fitter and happier nation.
Thoughts?

Totally agree.
Couldn't agree with you more.
Many companies are scrambling to take it out of their products. Wendy's has eliminated trans fat from its fries, and other companies, such as McDonald's, says they're working on ways to reduce it.
I don't know if McDicks will be able to pull this off, considering the unhealthy grease IS the addicting element. And the Salt.
Pretty much the two most unhealthy things for you in large doses.

I would agree as well. I was
I would agree as well. I was never a super fast food addict, or at least compaired to some, maybe fast food 3 - 4 meals a week. As I started getting close to my 30's despite going to the gym all the time I started to put on a spare tire. Also had serious heartburn a lot. It did take me a while to dawn on me that fast food was really that bad for me and no amount of excercise was going to alter its affects. I quit fast food and within a week heartburn went away permanently and weight went back down. Now I have it maybe 5 time a year and only out of need to eat and on the road somewhere and too busy or running late for a meeting to stop someplace good or in a town that lacks something good.
What's heartburn?
Just curious, what is heartburn exactly?
First of all, heartburn has
First of all, heartburn has nothing to do with the heart and is a digestive problem.
It is a discomfort caused by stomach contents traveling up to the lower part of the esophagus, called the gullet. The esophagus is then irritated by the stomach acid as it is not built to withstand it.
Wow.
You can tell someone's mother is a nurse, eh ronn?

Heart attack
I had a heart attack and quad bypass surgery as a result of family history and eating way to much junk food. I also ate at local pub twice a day for 10 years.
Now it's fish 4 times week at least. Am on a low fat no salt added diet.
I only weigh 163lbs. Weight loss is not my issue.
Transfats are death. I may have genetic issues with liver producing to much cholesterol but think of me as an indicator species, like they do with amphibians and ultra-violet rays.
