Healthy Weight Calc: How Much You Should Weigh

Interesting find....

healthatoz.com provides a convenient calculator to find out your estimated healthy weight, based on your height, your frame, and your recommended body mass index.

Very simple, very quick and good to set realistic targets for weight loss goals. (Don't go to low -- be healthy!)

I advise everyone to check it out, response with similar (or better) tools elsewhere on the web.

Kind Regards,

I disagree...

This calculator is saying that I should weigh around 143 lbs and if I weighed that much I might possibly go into depression...Yeah it should probably be more accurate than that...

Totally.

That is why I am trying to start a discussion to find better tools on the web. Have you found any other resources?

Actually for me this one

Actually for me this one probably came the closest to being correct as any I ever seen for my bone structure. It said my optimal weight should be 195. Which when I was 19 I weighed 200 with a 30 inch waist. Most of them tell me I should be 175 or something like that. But that would make me like a twig.

Learn about your own body!

Everybody please remember that every one of us has a different body type...... we are genetically predisposed. Although there are numerous ways of measuring where are body weight should be we need to factor in bone density, muscle mass, height, etc into these equations. These formulas are based on the average body type. Body fat is probably the closest measurement, but again depending on your goals it will depend on what you want to look like.

So please conform to what is comfortable for you.

Cheers, Michelle

This calculator was bang on for my goal.

Haha. I did the BMI

Haha. I did the BMI calculator after I did the weight calculator. The Weight Calculator says that my ideal weight it 154lbs, but my goal weight is 155lbs. So, the BMI Calculator tells me that I'll be "overweight", even though it's only 1lbs more.
I realize it's just a computer doing the calculations, but I thought it was amusing never the less. Thanks for the links.

I've got a long way to go
