When Motivation fails
One of the biggest factors for sabotaging your new good intensions. New Years resolutions, for starting a new life, getting in shape. Is the motivation. Many of us trainees, can recognize it very well, we simply just dont wanna hit the gym, for some reason. Trainees that has been working out for years, are aware of it and most of us knows how to handle it, so it becomes a part of out work out cyklus. As a personal trainer I have seen many times, people with the best intentions, fail because of lack of motivation. How can we handle this?First we need to figure out what it is that cause our motivation to fail. The most common is work related. It can be quite difficult to go to the gym 5 tims a week, when you work from 9 to 6 in the evening. Just the thought of lifting weights at that time, can get even the most proffesional trainee, to consider just to go home and chrash the couch instead. Its a paradoks, to skip one day in the love for the couch, then 2 days, one week and suddenly its has been months since last time you where in the gym. The feeling of starting all over again simple de-motivate people. Lack of results. You feel you are working hard, but you do not get the desired results from your effort, why? maybe because you do not train right! What is right for some is not necessary the right thing for you. Diets, metabolism and your genes has something to say here as well. Some people are more blessed than others. That the way it is and thats something we have to deal with. Overtraining, recently I met a guy in my local gym. He was complaining about his wrist was hurting when he was doing for example biceps curls. It turns out that the guy trains 2 hours everyday with only weights. People have a tendency to want result right here and now. So you hit it, 5 days a week 2 til 3 hours. It goes good the first couple of weeks, after that you begin to slack, your body hurts, and the results stays away. Why? You pushed your self to much. If you have been training for a while you can propably recognize some of the above.what can we do to prevent motivation fails? First of all you got to have fun with what you are doing, and feel good about it. Do not see the gym as a second world war concentration camp. Second be realistic, before you start, try to figure out how much time you are able to spend in the gym. How many time a week? If you work 9 to 10 hours pr day, then I do not think you can make 2 hours every day. Then maybe just 3 or even 2 pr week. That is enough to get some good lasting results. You just change your routines, so they fit in accoring to how much time you have for working out.An example. You only have 2 hours pr week to train. And you need to loose some weight. I suggest a high intensity work out, with some interval training and cardio. All that can be done in just 1 hour, and with very good results.Another example if you have 3 to 4 days a week, then try a 2 split or 3 split. With a high intensity cardio interwall in the end. Max training time 1.20 min.5 to 6 days a week a split program with only cardio days included. There is a lot of opportunities. But be realistic with how much time you can spend on the gym. check out my online personal training program. I have allready helped hundreds of people with the same problem. Just click right here. And you are on your way to your goals.Of course there is your diet, That one you have to stick to every day. Try for example the Carb Rotation Diet. Its a good one, and recommended by personal trainers. Any questions feel free to contact me martin@radicalbody.com Martin
