First 5K Run
A few weeks ago I was doing a little searching on the internet. For years I had been interested in running a 5K, and was thinking about it as I was getting healthier last year. I knew that it was going to be a lot of hard and dedicated work. Last year I told myself that I would compete in a road race in 2008 called the Moon In June. The end of February came, and unfortunately registration was not open as of yet. During my searching, I came across a website that was talking about a road race on March 30th 2008. There was a 30K run, 30K walk, relays and a 5K run/walk, and these road races were local. At that moment, I was thinking to myself that this is was something that I wanted to do, and thought that now was as good a time as any. I made sure that nothing else was planned that weekend, and decided to register for the 5K. This would be a great place to start, working up to the Moon In June race. It is now 2 weeks until the race, and I have been faithfully going to the gym for the past month, going 3-5 times a week. I really cant wait until this race. I am getting so excited. This is now crunch time. I know it is going to take a lot of hard work over the next 2 weeks, but I know it will be worth it. I have been eating healthy for a while now, and on a consistant training pattern. I know that this is a 5K run/walk, but I really want to run the whole way, and finish the race. I know I can do it. Wish me luck. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Later.

Just one tip I can give to
Just one tip I can give to you that usually catches all first time 5k runners is do the stair master at the gym maybe once a week. Training in the gym and actually running the 5k is different, they got real hills that if you haven't trained your glutes up some they will kill you.
Other than that Good Luck!!!
Thanks
Thanks for the tip. I will definitely look into it.
