Still Making the Effort :)
I have decided, just today actually, that I will start going to the gym EVERY weekday after work :)
Unfortunately, I have no belief that I will actually go every day... but I figure if I tell myself that, the pattern will be set up so that I end up going more often than I do now.
I have been trying to go on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and while I always make the Friday, I find that I always miss one of the others. This habit is consistantly bringing down my average number of workouts per week to two instead of three. So if I say I will go five times, I should make it to the gym at least three times if not four. At least that's what I'm hoping.
After that terrible math lesson I have not much else to say other than that I'm doing what I can, making an effort to do better and I hope everyone else is doing the same :)
And to Xyon: I have finally found a decent ratio of splenda to milk which is not as good as cream & sugar but good enough to keep drinking it that way ;)

Making the effort
I agree with the idea of being at least ready to work out every day after work. I find that it's much easier to do ON THE WAY HOME than it is to work out ONCE YOU GET HOME. I used to keep a bag packed in the car when I worked outside of home every day. Now that I work from home up to three days per week, I always PLAN to work out in front of the TV, but most days it does not happen. What I'm saving in gas, I'm gaining in pounds ... uggggghhhhh!
Thanks for the inspiration to put that gym bag back into the car.
LOL, you will get used to
LOL, you will get used to it. Sugar is a hard thing to give up but once you do and you try it again you wonder what you ever seen in it. Anytime you have a sweet craving grab some fruit. Learn to experiment with different fruits. I still am trying new fruits. I have never had blood oranges, however February is when they are in season so I had my first one 2 weeks ago, which if you never have had then you got to try them. They look funky but they taste like an orange and raspberry mix. I highly recommend them and they are really sweet, they are one of my new favorite fruits I would bet I have had about 15 of them in 2 weeks. Have you even made a smoothie yet? You really need to try, and make your own some of the ones they make in stores are horrible for you they make them with canned fruit in syrup I have actually seen a "Healthy Berry Smoothie" at a store once I asked them for a calorie chart though and that smoothie was on there at 1400 calories in just one. I can see though why many people had problems with weight in the world. Eating out can be dangerous.
Anyway, it is a good idea to go to the gym right from work. It is often hard to go there once you have already gone home. I always pack my bag and take it with me in the morning. A few tips for you though depending on your climate, your profile says your born in Toronto so if your still up north there then you can appreciate this. I live in Michigan so I learned all this the hard way. If you can take your gym bag into work with you then do it. I mean actually take it out of your car and in to work. The cold weather can freeze water bottle or anything like that and they can crack open. Shampoo, Conditioners, lotions, gels, hairspray etc anything you might take with you, can freeze and burst open in the car. Nothing like getting to the gym ready to work out and have your sweats all covered in shampoo. Also is you have an MP3 player then going from there being frozen to instantly running warm in the gym can drain the battery really fast even cause condensation inside which can short it out and damage it. and last but not least, while putting on underwear that has been chilled down to below zero will definitely wake you up and get you ready to hit the gym floor, it is not always refreshing.
