Let the winter begin

Well, winter has set in, and after a few nasty winter storms, I am unable to get out for my usual runs anymore. Also, with a major snow storm just beginning and the cold weather sticking around, I am finally realizing that my running season is officially over. Now that winter has seemed to arrive with a huge bang, I need to find other ways to exercise, and continue on my healthy path. From the beginning of September to the beginning of December, I noticed that I had gained almost 15 lbs. Over the last 2 weeks, I have managed to lose 10 of those lbs. Even though I am unable to go running, I am figuring out different ways to get back on track. My plan is to get back to the gym in the new year, but for the time being, I am doing crunches, push ups and some weight training at home. I have also cut out all those bad foods, including fast food, and have begun eating healthy again. I also am finally learning that food is not a comfort. After my grandmother passed away, I started eating to feel better. Not only did it not make me feel better and helped me gain a lot of weight, I actually started feeling worse, along with getting angry a lot. Over the past week I have been really stressed at work, but have resisted the food temptation, and am fighting through the stress. I know my body with thank me later for it. I am now back below 240 lbs, and am ready to tackle the harsh winter that is before me. Last winter I gained 10 lbs. I don’t want to see that again. I want to lose even more weight, but definitely not gain any unless it is with muscle gain. I know I wont be able to get out for my 5km runs until the spring, but that isn’t going to bring me down. I WILL succeed this winter, and come spring, will be ready to begin the next phase in my quest for ultimate health.
