Fitness - Beating Fatigue
We all face exhaustion now and then, especially after a hard day of work, lack of sleep, poor health, stress and or just from living in today's day in age.
Lack of sleep is a leading health complaint in North America. Virtually everybody is affected by the feelings accompanying fatigue-weariness, and or lack of energy. Drowsiness is the need to sleep whereas fatigue is a case of not getting enough sleep. Sometimes feeling fatigue is the expected response after a heavy work-out. Feeling exhausted isn't a worry in this case. Just ensure to eat plenty of protein and complex carbs in order to repair the muscle cells you destroy during your intense workout.
Emotional Fatigue
Don't be surprised if you feel exhausted after an emotionally draining or stressful day. In both of these situations the body is utilizing enormous amounts of energy, which taxes the body, causing feelings of tiredness. Emotions do make you tired!
Women take note: If you are feeling tired all the time it may help you to know that fatigue is related to hormonal changes and is one of the most comon symptoms of hormonal imbalance, especially when associated with peri-menopause and menopause. But don't think only women in their 40's and 50's complain of fatigue. Women of all ages are susceptible - even teenagers (why don you think they sleep so much?)
Nutrition
Lack of proper nutrition is a leading cause of fatigue - no surprise there! I guess you figured it wouldn't take long to get to this point but it's hard to ignore the importance of diet and health and well-being. People who diet, follow high or no carb diets, and or low fat eating plans are particularly susceptible to exhaustion. Part of the problem is a situation called insulin resistance, which occurs as a result of the burst of energy received after eating something carb-loaded and then the crash you experience after the body tries to process it.
Understanding why you may be feeling fatigued is helpful when trying to determine how to treat the problem. So keep reading gimme20.com for important nutrition and fitness tips from professionals and colleagues. And remember, you create your lifestyle. So exercise, rest and eat lean and green!
