Update: Half Way Through Year
Well, it is half way though the year of change for me, and I am feeling a lot better than I was at New Years. Yes it has still been a year of ups and downs, but all in all, it has been a lot better than past years. I am still looking for a new job, but I havent let myself go at all health wise. I am not ready to give up all my hard work. I will admit that I have splurged a bit here and there, and have felt guilty afterwards. But, I have made up for it each time by continuing my running, and still trying to eat as healthy as I can. Right now is expecially difficult since I have seemed to have hit a road block. The weight isnt coming off as fast as it used to, and it has hit a plateau. I still check the scale quite a bit, which I am trying not to do. But I know I am still doing well as I ran yesterday for 7.5 km, opposed to my usual 5.4 km. I seem to be getting a little more energy, and am starting to pace myself a little better. I am still trying to get myself up to the 10 km mark. Here in my city we have a Moon in June race every year the week before Fathers Day. I saw the runners out there this year, and was thinking to myself that I would like to do that someday. There is a 5 km run (which I am at that level now) and a 10 km run (the level I would like to be at). It would be great if I were able to do that 10 km run next year. I guess that is one of my new goals. Winters have always been really difficult for me. This past winter I gained 14 lbs, which is a little above my average. I know my main goal is to weigh in below 200 lbs, but I know that if I achieve the Moon in June goal next year, it would feel just as great. Heck, when I was able to run 7.5 km yesterday, I felt wonderful. I probably could have run more if I had the time. This next 6 months and even 12 months are going to be a real test for me, as I do not want to gain any of this weight back. I probably have a good 3 or 4 more months this year to get out and run, so I am going to take advantage of it as much as I can. These goals are becoming more and more realistic. If I was told 6 month ago that by the first week of July I would be 40 - 45 lbs lighter, and running 7.5 km, I probably would have been laughing. I know I can make these goals, and I am going to make these goals. Until next time.
