Workout @ Work
I am an elementary school teacher. This year our district moved a great majority of the staff and students as it opened two new buildings. My current school is a conglomeration from numerous schools. It has worked out well. We are in a much larger building than I have been in previously.
A month ago there was an announcement that the faculty fitness room was almost ready; electricity was the only hangup. I had never been in a school with a fitness room.
Today is the penultimate day of work. After the children went home after a half day, most of the staff left for a retirement luncheon. Those of us who did not attend (didn't know the teacher retiring) remained at school. There were not many of us. On the way back to my office via the gymnasium, I saw the fitness room door ajar and had a peek.
Pretty nice, but small. There are three treadmills, a couple climbing machines, and two rowing machines, as I recall. I was on my lunch break so I tried out one of the treadmills. Twenty minutes later and more than a mile walked uphill, I had burned 115 calories and worked up a good perspiration.
I will have to figure out a way to incorporate this into my daily routine come September. What a bonus!

Hello. I agree working at a place that has fitness machines is a plus. One of my jobs is for the Ymca. I love being able to use their equipment and such. Gotta find time, and get the guts up to do it though... sometimes I feel out of place there.
Hope it goes well for you. Sounds like a nice plan for the cooler weathered days.
