I suffered a heart attack last year at age 43. High cholesterol runs in family. My mum passed away at 46, her brother at 47, my younger brother at 38. I'm the lucky one I survived my heart attack and under went quad bypass surgery.

Last stress test was passed with flying colours. No doubt as a result of riding to work every day. Next stress test not for another year.

I ride a 2000 Davinci Taos MTB.

Cholesterol levels

Submitted by Rom on May 11, 2007 - 6:29pm.

My cholesterol levels when I had heart attack were 5.4. A TV ad says that Lipitor should take it down 1-1.6. That should bring me down to 4 or so. My docs want it at 2. Getting it down to 2 requires diet changes and exercise. I eat fish 4 times a week, chicken twice and pork or steak once a week. No junk food. I ride to work every day. Well almost. Summer is here so the motorcycle gets a ride periodically. My cholesterol levels are at 1.9.
