Week 2, Day 0 - under the weather

Well I had to break down and reschedule my start-the-week cardio. I got a bit of a cold on Friday, and although I fell quite a bit better, I'm still congested. I think I'll move my cardio to tomorrow, and push my leg workout to Friday afternoon since I get off work early on Friday.

Off to drink many more fluids of the hot and citrus-y variety.

It's the runny nose that's the real problem :) I'm going tonight even if it's only for 20 minutes... I have to keep the momentum going.

mmmm… hot citrus!

Do you do the emergen-c packets in hot water, or perhaps the choice of astronauts everywhere, Tang? (Whoa I just had a campfire flash back from my child hood)

For what it’s worth I had the bug this winter that lasted 3-6 weeks for everyone around me for only 2 weeks. I attribute my speedy recovery to a daily walk weather I needed it or not and massive amounts of juice.

Here’s the recipe for my get the sniffles out juice:
5 carrots
3 cloves garlic
1 inch of ginger
‘some’ parsley

I’d take that and mix it with ~ 12 oz. of orange juice and drink it up.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

the hot citrus is ...

Well actually I can't really tell because the label is in Chinese, but it's basically like marmalade that you add hot water to. It's very soothing, but it probably has too much sugar.

lemon water

Personally, I just drink hot water and freshly squeezed lemon.

My mother used it when she was pregnant because she didn't want to take meds. I've been using it my whole life.

btw, just a personal observation: your avatar dude is shaped like the superman symbol when it's so small. I wonder if anyone else noticed or agreed. Anyhow, it's what caught my eye... way cool.
