Well, I'm a hockey player

Submitted by honugirl on May 27, 2007 - 1:09pm.

Well, I'm a hockey player dealing with several serious injuries, including the most recent: ankle reconstruction surgery 12 weeks ago. Since I've been out for a few seasons, I've gained quite a bit of weight. I'm exercising like a mad woman and just keep gaining, it's getting really frustrating. Wish I could be nice and fit again. Someday, maybe...

I'm a college girl who went through / going through clinical depression. Never been small, but with the depression I gained alot of weight making things alot worse. Now I'm going for actually healthy, and maybe hitting the weight I should be for my hight. MAYBE. But the way I'm built I dunno if I can... I have alot of bad health habits that I'm currently trying to break, or make new habits over 'em. I am working 2 jobs this summer, am on medication for the depression, and have a membership to the Y. I dunno, I'd just like to feel good about my appearance and such. Never really been 'fit' to begin with so I can't complain much there - though if I could be that would be amazing!

I'm Michelle, after having 2 boys I have lost my cute little figure. I have put off losing the weight because of some serious things happening to my family this year. I decided that eatting was a great way to forget about some things, but now it's time for a new start. I wanted to lose 20-25 pounds. Love the new site here, hope that it works for me. If you want to chat let me know. I'm on a good path so far, I started at 165 pounds and so far have lost 10 in the last month. THANK YOU!

I'm Susan. I'm 51 and diabetic. I'm quite overweight. I used to be very fit when I was younger but when my elder daughter developed a chronic, serious illness I stopped exercising and started eating. My highest weight was 232.
Actually I love to exercise. I used to go to the Y four to five days a week. Later I joined another gym but didn't like it that much. Mostly the music puts me off. So now I've found that I can do it at home and enjoy it. I started out using a yoga mat for exercising. I did a lot of crunches at first and I found this really helpful. It seems to make me feel fuller faster, so I've started eating less. I've been at it for six months and have lost about eight pounds. That doesn't sound like a lot but I've lost a lot of inches. The muscle you build will take the place of fat and it won't seem like your losing a lot but actually you are.
After a few months I added ankle weights. Now I've moved up to the swiss ball and bands.
I've dieted several times in my life, I can easily loose twelve pounds but then I'd gain it back plus twenty or thirty more. This time I'm going for permanent weight loss.
