This is the unavoidable First Blog Entry. I want to lose about 36 pounds before October 13, 2007, when I will be getting married. There's a tummy, a chin, and two thighs I want to seriously lose some flab on before then! Since I struggle with stress and depression, I've decided to pursue this goal by developing a consistent and challenging Yoga routine for myself. I'm starting with the "Yoga Now" DVD set with Rodney Yee and Mariel Hemingway, and my daily routine with these DVDs is this:

  • Morning: 10 Minute A.M. Energizer
  • Day: 30 or 50 Minute Core Workout
  • Evening: 10 Minute P.M. Destressor

I've also put these DVDs on my computer so if I get stressed or tired at work, I can fire up the 10-minute destressor or energizer to get back in the swing of things.

I'm also going to be watching what I eat. I'm not following any sort of diet, but I'll be making more health-conscious food choices in general and watch my portions. The occasional chocolate bar or ice cream is not banned, just made more sporadic.

Wish me luck!

try adding more walking steps per day

If you can add more steps in your day, that should help you a lot as well. It makes your day more active.

Thats the "diet" I picked.

Thats the "diet" I picked. Ate really good mostly everyday and snacked when needed. It's key not to starve yourself though. I ate constantly and lost like 30lbs in 3-4 months. Ate a lot of fruit and veggies (most for hungry spots and snacks) Cereal in the morning (Kashi brand cereal is great healthy) and I ate a lot of turkey sandwiches (whole wheat bread and low sodium deli meat) wasn't the most varied diet but it was healthy and it worked.

Good luck.
