Cognitive behavioral psychology and the myth about motivation
October 5, 2008 - 3:06am — Tanu288To put it concisely, cognitive behavioral psychology holds the belief that every emotion we feel is a direct result of the thoughts we think. Simple, right? But the implications of this theory are life-changing -- you are ENTIRELY in control of how you feel. Isn't that a comforting thought?

Getting fit while trying to get pregnant
September 5, 2008 - 8:18am — annasullivanHi everyone!
I am 23, happily married to a wonderful man who's in the US Coast Guard, and we are currently trying to get pregnant. I am about 18 pounds over what I feel like I should be. I am 5'2' and about 138 pounds. I would love to get down to 120, that's my goal right now, hopefully one day I will be lower than that, but 120 is my goal right now.

My journey of my 91 lb weight loss
August 12, 2008 - 1:15pm — Kimberh81My name is Kim and I am new to gimmie20, but not new to diet and weight struggles. I had been overweight my entire life and topped out at 226lbs! I was afraid my daughter was even embarassed of me and I had no energy to do anything which when your a single mom is no good! Anyway a professor of mine in nursing school saw my desire to want to learn how to eat healthy the right way, especially since I had a history of numerous failed diets. Anyway, he put me on a his 9th Law diet and I have now lost 91 pounds and feel fabulous. If I can do it anyone can!

Just me all dressed up for a night out with the girls.
Starting off mark II
March 23, 2008 - 6:46pm — trishOk, so I've been working on changing my life style for a couple of years now. I am getting there slowly, and I guess thats not so bad cause then there is less chance of crashing.... or so my theory goes (and I'm sticking to that!). But now I am feeling better within myself, my fitness is no longer embarrassing and it is time to move on to the next phase.... what ever that will be.
Still Making the Effort :)
February 13, 2008 - 12:36pm — AkasharaineI have decided, just today actually, that I will start going to the gym EVERY weekday after work :)
Unfortunately, I have no belief that I will actually go every day... but I figure if I tell myself that, the pattern will be set up so that I end up going more often than I do now.

Doing all right so far
November 11, 2007 - 3:47pm — AkasharaineAfter a huge problem with the gym and it's (lack of) customer service I have actually started working out. I have been doing 20 minutes of elliptical cardio Monday, Wednesday and Friday for about two weeks now, kind of as a warm up. This week I am going to start doing come circuit training as well. It feels great, already I get excited to go. While I have seen no results yet (2 hours of cardio does not a supermodel make) I am glad I got back on the horse and have excellent expectations of the future.
