My Experience with Bikrams Hot Yoga

Hey everybody,

I took my first bikrams yoga of the season. I felt absolutely zen like after. I really needed it for my flexibility. Although power yoga is my favorite.

Here are some of the different disciplines I have taken now:

MOKSHA - This foundation series is a cardiovascular workout that strengthens and stretches the muscles, while focusing and calming the mind. The heat allows for deeper, safer stretching and promotes detoxification. Moksha yoga helps to improve the immune system, focus and overall well being. Regular practice also provides countless benefits to those suffering from stress, back/knee pain, scoliosis, insomnia, and poor digestion. The room is heated to approximately 40C degrees. This class is suitable for all levels.

POWER FLOW YOGA - An inspiring vinyasa (movement with breath) style practice, focusing on strength, coordination, flexibility and core stability. Linking postures together in a flowing sequence emphasizes continuous steady rhythm of breath. This rhythm provides the roots for a moving meditation that will deepen your awareness and help you to reconnect to your own innate knowledge. The room temperature is kept at 30C degrees during this invigorating 90 minutes which is suitable for all levels of yoga practitioners.

HATHA - Balancing the energies of yin and yang by bringing the mind and body together, hatha yoga uses asana (yoga postures) and pranayama (conscious breathing) in combination with mental focus to cultivate awareness, strength, flexibility, and softness. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, this practice brings balance, relaxation, and a sense of well-being to the practitioner.

So look in your community and try a yoga class...... you'll be amazed how you feel after.
