running
3 Days Down, 1 To Go!
So, we made it a point this week to get out on Monday and Tuesday - take Wednesday as a light day - and finish on Thursday and Friday. So far so good! We have been running 2 miles each of those mornings and taking the afternoons to get out with the dog (although he has been running, too) or get on the bikes for a few miles.
I have felt great. Not only is it nice to get your workout done early but the temp outside is better and you get a nice early jumpstart to your day! I have not been as tired and finally do not feel that I have to eat the entire day!
It Always Happens This Way
Last week I finally ducked under 220. It feels good. It took way longer than I ever thought it would but I was very happy to see it say 219!
Getting to a goal like that makes you want more. It drives that hunger that you have to have to really go after it with all you have. I caught that bug and have really been looking forward to morning runs and getting things done. It hasn't happened yet though.

Running Again - with some new gear
I went for a run today. That's the synopsis!
History
There is no history. I'm a lazy runner. I'm a frequent soccer player (about 4-5 times a week) playing outdoors twice and indoors 3 times a week. If there is a ball to chase I can seem to run a lot longer, but running for runnings sake has been really difficult for me.
Nike+
Its Marathon Season
November in NY means the Marathon is right around the corner. November 4th to be exact. 26.4 miles are not easy to come by so here are the steps you need to take to go from weekend warrior to Marathon Maven. Please consult your doctor, or better yet see at least two.
1. Follow through. It is no secret that people often join a gym an go three times. When it comes to running a marathon get others to help keep you going.
Portland Marathon- 5 mile run!!
In 10 weeks I am going to run in the Portland Marathon!!
They have a 5 mile run that I am going to do.
I am going from nothing to 5 miles, increasing my mileage every week.
Any advice for me?
I plan on taking some more photos this week, and then some in 10 weeks!
Would anyone who lives in Portland like to run with me once a week?
3 straight days
This is my 3d day in a row, waking up early and getting my workout done. I feel great. This morning was pretty tough, not only waking up, but about 1/2 way through my run, I was feeling pretty sick (nauseous). And felt sick like that after the run for a little while. What really worried me was that I'll think about that next week when it's time to workout and that will be an excuse not to get up and work out. I really want my workouts to be fun. In the end, I decided that it's only the 3d day and I will have some days that I don't feel so good, but my body will adapt and get used to waking up and excercising early.
Today is my mothers birthday....
and I have already missed a designated run. WHat a loser. THere is drama in this house... I am making an excuse? Is that why I didn't want to run? I felt the need to stay with my mother in her room this morning. I did 3x 30 bicycle kicks though. Good start....
The `running` web links thread
Hey everyone -
If anyone has any websites to share, please respond to this thread and post your favorite running sites.
I'll start things off with wicked little app that lets you share running routes:
Jules from Bikely stopped by to let me know that they have created a new site for running, walking and hiking called Stepwhere.
Your turn!
