My goals...

So I've decided to start taking better care of my self after gaining 19 pounds over the summer. (The biggest part of that probably came from Halloween recently... lol) And my general diet sucks. All I eat is junk food. I used to be such an amazingly hardcore vegetarian. I only ever ate fresh or steamed vegetables. Never any starches or processed foods. Now it's all junk food and soda. I suck. I don't know if I'm actually going to lose twenty nine pounds. But hey, it's kind of an early new year's resolution. I'm going to really commit though. I'm not going to turn to fad diets like I used to.

Love and Pain

I have a love/hate relationship with food and Billy. I love them both but they both hurt me so badly. I need to get over both of them.

Setting Sights on Siouxperman

Okay. I'm just getting this blog started. Planning to run my first sprint triathlon in May of 2009, and I figure this might be a way to keep me motivated and keep a journal of the process.

Here we go again

So I'm starting over, again. I had gained 80 pounds while pregnant and I've lost 60 of that... I'm finding new motivation to lose the last 20 pounds. I managed to get to 186 but I've gained 5 pounds back and that is NOT the direction I want the scale to move. Back to regular exercise and portion control. Cut the sugar. Blaa Blaa Blaa

Cognitive behavioral psychology and the myth about motivation

To put it concisely, cognitive behavioral psychology holds the belief that every emotion we feel is a direct result of the thoughts we think. Simple, right? But the implications of this theory are life-changing -- you are ENTIRELY in control of how you feel. Isn't that a comforting thought?

Week 1

I have a notorious reputation of not being able to keep up a workout regimen for longer than, say, two weeks. I've never kept track of my efforts in as much detail as I will in the coming weeks -- maybe this will be the key to establishing a healthy pattern.

Going for the Gusto

Wow what 10 years can do, I was looking back on some of my pictures before I started my current career. I was in shock how I have let myself go, I know a good percentage is the stress of the job and also me falling back into old habits. I now am on a mission to get back to where I was 10 years ago, I need to shed 90 lbs in the process and build back up my muscles in the process. I guess the big motivator right now is my health, I have in the last couple of months have heard about co workers, friends and just strangers getting heart attacks in their early 40's.
