sticking to it

My resistence is hanging on by a thread these past few days! I keep remembering back to when I just ate anything without thinking about it and I'm struggling not to do the same. I'm much better now at realizing when I'm mindlessly eating and putting a stop to it relatively quickly. I was doing so well with eating a meal and feeling content until my next one, but now I just want to eat all day!

back at the gym

Boredom with the same routine, feeling isolated in the kickboxing class I've been going to for over a year now, straight hair and hot dates have kept me away from the gym for the last few weeks, but I finally got back to it last night with the goal of not being bored and not having a set routine, just kind of doing what I wanted and it worked and it was great. Here's how it went...

Got to the gym (I drove because it was dark and cold), decided to run the mile loop around it before going in. Did intervals based on hills, songs on my iPod and fire hydrants.

re-recommitting

I slacked off. It's only been 2 weeks since I decided to go at this hard core, but I've already slacked. Last weekend I didn't make it to the gym at all and while I still worked out (ish), it wasn't the hard core 2 hours a day I was going to put in. I slept through kickboxing on Saturday, but then babysat, so I walked with the kids, pushing a stroller to two parks. Then Sunday I went for a run late at night so I could feel like I did something.

recommitting

A few weeks ago I decided I was going to actually commit to losing weight - 10 pounds in 3 months. I was going to be 110 by Thanksgiving (I'm short, so no worries, still within healthy range for me). I've always been thin, but I enjoy working out and I would like it to show a little more and like all women, I have trouble spots on my body that could spare a few pounds. I went for it for about a week before giving up. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't have weight that you actually HAVE to lose. Since then, I've actually gained weight!
