Time to get back into shape

Alright! Time to get back into shape already!

Man, it's been quite some time over the winter since I have done much besides working at the computer everyday. All the good stuff I was doing to take of my health last year seems to be going down the tubes.

I'm looking to get into a cool new active hobby to get me stoked on getting back into shape again.

I'm just wondering what other people are doing to get back into shape since the weather is improving?

How to stay in shape while your sick?

I recently have been battling pretty bad stomach issue and have not had the energy to get much exercise at all. I feel like a lot of the work I put into myself has disappeared over the last few weeks. My energy is low, feel gross and have started putting on weight. I am curious if any one knows of a good + safe way to stay relatively in shape while you are feeling sick?

Starting to notice a difference

Well, its been about three weeks of working out about 4 times a week on average. I have already started noticing a big difference. Its nice being able to see the results right away, it keeps me motivated. I only go to the gym about once a week and the rest of the time I'm either using my free weights at home or biking, walking or hiking.

Now I just gotta lay off those damn good greasy sandwiches from the local coffee shop.

Free weights at home making the difference

So its been a week since I started working out again. I have gone to the gym twice with my friend and went to Canadian tire and picked up a set of weights for 50 bucks for my house. We go to the YWCA were there isn't as many meat heads. Its great going to the gym were you can just relax and take it on casually. Having weights at my house has been perfect. It allows me get in work outs when I don;t have the cash or the time to hit the gym.

Started working out at the gym today

Just started working out at the gym today. I'm hoping to keep it up at least 1-2 days a week. I'm just trying it out again to see if the gym is something I enjoy doing. I'm keeping it fairly simple to start. I'm just trying to build some stabilizing muscles before I start hitting it harder. I'm also planning on getting some free weights at my house for those days where I can't make it to the gym or have no cash.

Does anyone have some good starting out workout routines?

Good bike routes in East Vancouver

Oi!
Just wondering if anyopne knows of some good bike paths in East Vancouver. When the weather gets better I am gonna fix up my old bike with some pimp fenders and whitewall tires and go cruising to work everyday.

Yes... exercise helps with motivation towards exercise!

I find when I work out, the more I want to work out. Its hard getting things going when you sit all day at a desk, but I find once you get up and just get that ball rolling, then your motivation really starts to kick in.

I am going to start to track my progress with body photos and a blog to keep me excited about the fact that I am getting fit and staying healthier.

How does everyone else keep their motivation up?

Gonna start hitting the gym... I think

Hi all,
So I think I'm going to start hitting the gym. Its the winter and I am usually a person who likes to get his exercise from things such as biking, skateboarding and hiking etc. Since I can't do most of that type of stuff in the winter, I decided I will start hitting the gym a couple times a week to try and shed the beer gut I am starting to develop.

Is there anything tips that you that anyone would suggest for a person that has never really been a gym guy? What are some of the first things I should keep in mind?

If anyone could share their knowledge or tell me about their story of when they first started hitting the gym that would be great.

Time to find some fun indoor exercises

Well, summer is winding down and the need for fun indoor activities is rising. I am a person who likes being outside, enjoying the fresh and view and not cooped up inside. Now that the days are getting shorter and the and the air colder, I am wondering what to do. I usually rely on getting most of my excise in from biking, jogging basketball and skateboarding, but soon the Vancouver streets will be slick with black ice. Maybe I will have to take up yoga or racket ball. I am not a big fan of the gym, I like being distracted by competition or a game while doing something physical.
